The Thorn tells the story of Jesus and the epic, spiritual battle for hearts and minds. The story begins with the creation of the world and weaves through time, highlighting the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, ending with the formation of the early church. The Thorn is told predominantly through the lens of John the Beloved as we experience his memories. Scenes are depicted using narration, traditional acting, dance, stunts, and aerial arts.

The runtime is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 15 minute intermission.

The show contains special effects such as fire, haze/low fog, strobe and loud music.

Due to the graphic nature of the crucifixion and a scene featuring an implied suicide, we recommend the show for ages 12 and up. We ask that parents use discretion when bringing young children.

The Thorn has partnered with Compassion International since 2011 and views the work they do as a way to extend the story of Jesus beyond the walls of the theater. At each of our shows, we provide an opportunity for patrons to sponsor children out of poverty, in Jesus’ name. We have seen tens of thousands of children’s lives changed forever through this initiative.
