Experience the passion of Jesus

FAQs
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Is the show appropriate for children?
We would say for children 12 or older, it is definitely appropriate. The Thorn was originally created for teenagers. Over the years, we have worked to make the show more family friendly since our audience has grown to include families with younger children.
Here are some things you will want to know as a parent: the show is loud, there is graphic content (specifically the crucifixion), and this is an intense subject. That said, we have heard from countless families with younger attendees that have an amazing experience. If you are planning on bringing children, the potentially questionable portion of the show is the 30 minutes after intermission (for the live show). The first hour and the last 20 minutes are all-ages appropriate.
What is this? Is it a live show or a movie?
Often described as cirque meets the passion of Jesus, The Thorn is an immersive stage show featuring emotionally powerful music, drama, aerial acts, movement arts, modern dance, and big visual effects. There are two unique ways to experience The Thorn:
- At home or on your device via virtual cinema (Click Here For Tickets)
- Live on the stage at performing arts centers and arenas in March and April (Click Here For Tickets)
Which is better? The movie or the live show?
Honestly, both. The Thorn movie provides a totally unique way to watch the show. Moviegoers get to experience it from every angle. Plus, there is a special cinematic story that was created just for the filmed version. The live show is a completely different experience as the immersive nature of seeing The Thorn live makes it an unforgettable show.
What is The Thorn about? What’s the story?
In a spectacular way, The Thorn shares history’s most epic story: God’s love for the world amidst the spiritual battle for all of humanity. The story begins with the creation of the world and weaves through time, highlighting the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, ending with the beginning of the early church.
How do I apply to be part of the cast & crew?
